Christmas Learning Fun

Here are just a few snapshots of some of the fun learning activities we have been doing around here this month.

Alphabet soup - yummy!

Boy, look at ALL that snow.
Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair. Obviously we like dress up around here!

Now Mary, that's more like a pastor's kid, right?

Another, older version of Mary.

Not sure about this one....she said she was a cowgirl. Lasso and boots?

Color words candy cane matching. Emma could read them all!

Day 20 of our Christmas fun days, decorating an ice cream cone tree.

Always some dramatic flair.

Notice: not all ideas to be an out of the box teaching mama lend themselves to good results. Dry erase markers on our fridge did not go well.

The math problems were answered correctly but the result on the fridge seems permanent.

Several different home remedies later and it is still there.
Be blessed!

  1. We made those ice cream cone trees. I took one bite and had a sugar rush for hours! Elias ate all of his. It almost made me sick watching him eat it!
Did you try toothpaste on the fridge door? I know it may sound crazy, but I had sharpie marker on my dining room table and I googled ways to remove it and I tried that idea and it worked like magic! It has to be the paste, not the gel, though.
Speaking of magic - a magic eraser may take it off. Even though that isn't necessarily natural, it does amazing things!
Also, denatured alcohol, which you can get in the paint department, also takes off marker. It has a strong odor, so you'd want to use it when the kids are not around or when you could vacate soon after. It took sharpie out of my couch cushion and was the approved way to remove marker according to our stain guard warranty which we had gotten with our furniture.
